FacDat is an elaborate, complete system made up of a number of components. These components include:
- Several Access databases running on a state-wide network, and on independent tablet PCs in the field
- Executables which run jobs and are instigated from within the main Access application (these were coded in VBScript)
- Synchronization Processes
- A Help Application comprised of 50+/- pages
- Documented and Established Business Rules
- Built using MediaWiki Opensource Script
- Merge feature to produce letters in Microsoft Word
- Plus, many other features
The system was created by Sandi from the ground up. Following the SDLC (System Development Lifecycle), Sandi went throught the process of listening to the vision and then creating GUI and UML prototypes, and fine-tuning these until the user approved of them. This was followed by the development work, which translated the user requirements into a working system. Sandi was responsible for the design, development, coding, testing, debugging and documentation -- all the way to a complete system which is now used to manage over 200 property holdings for a large institution.
SYNCHRONIZATION PROCESSES
- One of the synchronization processes was used to synch data between the network .mdb database and portable tablet PCs. This process is in the form of an executable coded with VBScript, and compiled to a .exe.
- Another synch process synchronized data from an external parent data source used by hundreds of associated offices around the world.
( VBA MS Access (split database), VB Script, Adobe PhotoShop, MS Excell, MS Word )
